In Other Words ︎︎︎
Narrative arises when a place speaks very clearly. It reminds me that parts of a place belong to a cohesive whole; they sing together in chorus.
This can include the spaces and form, the materials, the weather. It reminds me that experience is not disparate, but singular.
The West Village is such a place where Narrative arises.
I can imagine the freshness that once was, and the forces that acted on the place and made it what is now. In a sense, the place traces, through the Residuals, what has happened over time.
The surface carefully takes color by the time. The changing feeling reflects the changing hour.
